Cheesy hash browns are a breakfast staple that everyone loves, but getting that perfect crunch can be a real challenge. Traditionally, we fry them in a skillet, but that often results in oily and unevenly cooked potatoes. Luckily, I’ve discovered a game-changing method that will give you amazing hash browns without the hassle. We’re going to make them in the oven, all smothered in cheese and seasoned to perfection. Get ready for a breakfast revolution!

These hash browns are all about the cheese! I personally love them this way, but feel free to experiment with additional ingredients like minced garlic, cut-up tomatoes, or cooked breakfast sausage. Easy Hash Browns in the Oven
Hash browns are a breakfast favorite, but standing over a hot skillet, trying not to get burned by oil splatter, is far from enjoyable. With this oven-baked method, making hash browns becomes effortless. You’ll have enough to feed a hungry crowd, and the crispy, delicious, crunchy edges will remind you of the hash browns you get at Waffle House!
Once you try making hash browns in the oven, you may never go back to the old ways. To get started, you’ll need a few simple things. Line your baking pan with foil and spray it generously with nonstick cooking spray. We don’t want any sticky situations here! Also, keep in mind that oven times may vary, so adjust accordingly to achieve your desired level of crispiness.

Sheet Pan Hash Browns
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
- Cover a sheet pan with foil and spray it with nonstick cooking spray, like Pam.
- In a bowl, combine the frozen hash browns, shredded cheese, onions, and seasoning.
- Toss everything together using tongs, ensuring the olive oil is well distributed throughout the mixture.
- Lastly, add melted butter and mix again.
- Dump the cheesy hash browns onto the foiled baking sheet and spread them out to form an even layer.
