I’m a huge fan of game day snacks, and these Air Fryer Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Jalapenos are the absolute best! They’re incredibly easy to make, perfect for enjoying as finger food during football or any sports game. Plus, they’re keto-friendly and even kid-friendly!
How to Cut the Jalapeno Peppers
To prepare the jalapeno peppers, start by cutting off the stem. It’s best to stay as close to the stem as possible, as it helps create a boat-like shape to hold the filling. Then, cut the pepper open lengthwise. I highly recommend wearing gloves while handling jalapenos to avoid any lingering spiciness on your hands.
Next, remove the membrane and seeds from the jalapenos. I like to use a small pairing knife to cut around the membrane and then pull it out with a small spoon or my hand. If you prefer a spicier kick, you can leave some of the membranes inside the pepper, as they contain the heat. However, removing the membranes will tone down the spiciness.
How to Make Air Fryer Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Jalapenos
Now, let’s get to the mouthwatering part – making the bacon-wrapped stuffed jalapenos!
STEP ONE: In a bowl, mix together cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined. It’s easier to work with room temperature cream cheese, so you may need to warm it up in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds if it’s cold.
STEP TWO: Using a small spoon, fill each jalapeno with the cream cheese mixture. Be careful not to overfill them, as it can cause the filling to spill out when wrapping with bacon.
STEP THREE: Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees for 3 minutes. While preheating is not mandatory, I find that it helps the food cook faster and taste better. For more information on preheating your air fryer, check out this link.
STEP FOUR: Take thinly sliced bacon and cut each slice in half. This will provide just enough bacon to wrap around each stuffed jalapeno.
STEP FIVE: Arrange the bacon-wrapped stuffed jalapenos in a single layer in the air fryer. Make sure they’re not touching each other to ensure even cooking of the bacon.
STEP SIX: Cook the jalapenos in the air fryer at 350 degrees for 14-16 minutes or until the bacon is crispy. Once they’re ready, enjoy them immediately!
These air fryer bacon-wrapped stuffed jalapenos are the perfect blend of creamy, spicy, and savory flavors. Serve them as an appetizer during game day or as a side dish with family dinners. Trust me, they’ll be a hit every time!
If you’re not a fan of spicy foods, you can easily substitute jalapenos with mini sweet peppers. They have a similar size but are completely devoid of spiciness.
