Whip up a wholesome side dish that the whole family will love in just 20 minutes! The best air fryer baby carrots are flavorful and tender — and oh-so-easy to make.
I’m really passionate about feeding my family wholesome, nutritious, and rounded meals. That usually includes some sort of protein, a filling carbohydrate, and a side of vegetables.
Sometimes it can be difficult to figure out what kind of veg to serve up. I’m always on the hunt for something simple and easy that won’t take a lot of time to prep and make.
That’s where a side like air fryer baby carrots come in handy!
I’ve already shared several carrot recipes on the site — like air fryer carrot fries, air fryer carrot chips, Instant Pot glazed carrots, and roasted (full-size) air fryer carrots.
Today’s dish takes a lot of the heavy lifting out of the process because I’m using baby carrots.
One of the best parts about this type of veggie is that they don’t need to be washed, peeled, or cut! The process from start to finish is so simple.
You also have the freedom to adapt my recipe and make air fryer baby carrots with honey or air fryer baby carrots with brown sugar. The choice is yours!
Here’s what I’m going to teach you in this post:
- The minimal ingredients and equipment you’ll need to make the best air fryer baby carrots ever.
- Specific instructions on how to make this side dish at home.
- Tips on how to adapt this recipe in order to make air fryer baby carrots with honey, or air fryer baby carrots with brown sugar.
You won’t believe just how easy this side dish is to make. Once you try it, you’ll want to serve it multiple times a week.
And, don’t be surprised if your normally veggie-averse kids ask for seconds — they are that tasty!
How To Make Air Fryer Baby Carrots
A full printable version of this recipe with ingredient measurements is available at the bottom of this post.
STEP ONE: Preheat your air fryer to 370 degrees F and toss the baby carrots in olive oil, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a medium-sized bowl. Make sure that they are evenly coated for the best results!
STEP TWO: Place the carrots in your air fryer basket and cook for 12-15 minutes, or until tender. Shake the basket after about 6-7 minutes to ensure that they cook all the way through.
STEP THREE: Garnish your carrots with a bit of fresh parsley and serve immediately.
How To Make Air Fryer Baby Carrots With Honey
This recipe is so easily adaptable. If you like sweet and savory foods, you may consider adding some honey to the mix!
To do so, preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees F — the temperature needs to be slightly higher in order to get the honey-glazed flavor you’re after.
Replace the Italian seasoning with honey and air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Serve ‘em while they’re hot!
How To Make Air Fryer Baby Carrots With Brown Sugar
Here’s another variation of this recipe: air fryer baby carrots with brown sugar! I also like to add a bit of cinnamon to the mix. The results are warm, earthy, and so yummy.
Set your air fryer to 390 degrees F — again, the temp needs to be slightly higher.
Replace the Italian seasoning with brown sugar, then follow the instructions as indicated on the recipe card below.
How Are Baby Carrots Made?
You may be wondering what exactly baby carrots are before you use them — I totally get that!
Baby carrots are simply small pieces of full-sized carrots that have been cut, peeled, and packaged.
After the carrots have been cut up, another machine rounds the ends which makes them perfect for snacking or for easy recipes like this one.
Can You Air Fry Carrots Without Boiling Them?
You don’t have to worry about parboiling your carrots before placing them in the air fryer.
Simply toss with your seasonings of choice, air fry at the indicated temperature, and allow to cook for 12-15 minutes. You’ll get the best air fryer baby carrots every time!
