Have you ever considered getting extensions or a lash lift? As someone who frequently wears false lashes, I used to get that question all the time. Extensions always seemed a bit harsh for my delicate lashes, not to mention the high price tag. But a lash lift and tint intrigued me, so I decided to give it a try.
After hearing rave reviews about this technique, I booked an appointment at Anastacia Skin Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Leslie, my technician, was fantastic. She took the time to explain the entire process before we started.
What is a Lash Lift?
A lash lift is like a perm for your eyelashes. During the treatment, tiny rods are placed on your eyelids, and your lashes are affixed to them. Then, a perming solution is applied. The perming solution and tint are left on for just a few minutes, and voila! Your lashes appear fuller and more voluminous.
Now, I have to be honest, my natural lashes are quite short, so the transformation wasn’t as dramatic for me. However, I can see how someone with longer and fuller lashes would achieve amazing results, perhaps even rivaling false lashes.
Once I applied mascara, my lashes looked like I was wearing a pair of natural-looking falsies. Overall, I was impressed with the outcome. It’s important to have realistic expectations about what a lash lift can do for your natural lashes, and that way, you’ll appreciate the results even more.
Long-Lasting Results
One of the best things about a lash lift and tint is its longevity. With no maintenance required, the results can last for a solid 7-8 weeks. Leslie advised against using oil-based products on the lashes to prolong the effects. After that, my lashes started to lose their curl and volume, but I still enjoyed the benefits for a significant amount of time.
Is a Lash Lift and Tint Right for You?
If you’re considering this treatment, here are a few things to consider:
- Affordability: A lash lift and tint is a more budget-friendly option compared to extensions. At the studio I visited, it cost $100 and lasted for eight weeks.
- Time-Saving: Unlike extensions, there is no need for fill-ins, making the lash lift and tint a time-efficient choice.
- Mascara-Ready: If you love the look of mascara but don’t want to apply it every day, a lash lift and tint can give you that effect all the time.
- Reasonable Expectations: Keep in mind that the treatment will enhance your natural lashes but might not provide the same level of drama as false lashes or extensions.
Final Verdict
For me, personally, I prefer a more dramatic lash look, so I don’t think I’ll opt for this treatment again. Applying false lashes is the most convenient way for me to achieve that level of volume. Additionally, the lift and tint made it challenging to apply false lashes because my natural lashes were so curly. However, for individuals with longer and thicker lashes, this treatment can be incredibly beneficial, especially if you’re taking a break from extensions or have a special event on the horizon.
